Why separate the waste?

Why separate the waste?

Why separate the waste?

Unsorted garbage can rot in landfills for many years, while:

pollute the earth and oceans;
destroy the ecosystems of the native land.
Sorting will help turn it into a resource:

to make things or energy out of it;
reduce the number of landfills.
The legal basis. The state policy of Kazakhstan in the field of waste management is defined in the Concept for the Transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a "green" economy and is aimed at the introduction of separate waste collection, the development of the waste recycling sector with the production of recyclable products with the attraction of investments, including through public-private partnerships. According to the Concept, by 2030 the share of waste recycling should be increased to 40%, by 2050 – to 50%.

Categories for waste sorting
In Kazakhstan, a similar garbage sorting system is in the process of being implemented. Therefore, this task is the responsibility of waste recycling enterprises.

Recommendations for the separation of household waste
Where to begin?
At home, to begin with, the garbage can be divided into three parts:

electronic garbage: non-working batteries, broken equipment, etc.;
for recycling: paper, plastic, glass and aluminum.
everything else: hazardous waste, thermometers, etc.
Is it necessary to wash the container and remove the labels before recycling
To send the container for recycling, you do not need to spend time on bringing it to sterility. But it is important to rinse the bottle or container with ordinary water from food residues. This makes it possible to exclude further contamination of other containers intended for recyclable materials. As a result, the profitability of processing increases, and the hard work of sorters is facilitated.

What should I do with plastic bottle caps?
As part of the implementation of environmental projects, it is possible to deliver plastic covers to reception points throughout Kazakhstan. The elements (caps) are sold to recycling plants, and the proceeds are sent to various funds.
