The procedure for admission to the military department at a university
Primary requirements
You can take the military department on a voluntary basis. Students who are studying only full-time, who are not older than 24 years of age in the year of the competition and who have no criminal record, can enroll in the military department.
How does selection happen?
The selection of students to study at the military department is carried out on the basis of a competition annually from August 1 to August 20 of the year of selection in accordance with the recruitment plan approved by the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Deadline(s) for accepting documents
Acceptance of documents by the military department ends 10 working days before the start of the selection committee’s work.
Stages of competitive selection
Stage 1. Passing a medical examination in accordance with the Rules for conducting military medical examination and the Regulations on military medical examination bodies in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by order of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated July 2, 2015 No. 373 (registered in the Register of State Regulatory Legal Acts No. 11846 ).
Stage 2. Conducting professional psychological testing.
Stage 3. Physical fitness check.
Stage 4. Competitive selection carried out in accordance with the calculation of the rating score, compiled and approved by the head of the university in agreement with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
It is important to know!
Each stage of the competition is only allowed to be completed once. Military training ends with a training camp (professional practice) one year before graduation from the university.
Required documents
Statement;
Identity card (original and copy);
Certificate of registration or military ID (original and copy);
2 photographs measuring 3x4 cm;
The original and a copy of one of the documents (if available) confirming the fact of the absence of custody of the child by one or both parents, or documents confirming the establishment of guardianship (trusteeship);
Certificate of presence or absence of criminal record in the form;
Document (if available) confirming the sporting achievement;
A certificate of the student’s actual studies at the university, signed by the dean of the faculty.
Assignment of military rank
After completing a full course of military training, passing exams, attending training camps and receiving a diploma from a university, you are awarded the military rank of “reserve lieutenant”. This data is reflected in the military ID, which you will receive after graduating from the military department.
