On January 25, 2024, a round table was held on the topic “Factors and components of civil identity”, timed to coincide with a discussion of the interview of the Head of State in the newspaper “Egemen Qazaqstan”.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board of the NJSC “Kazakhstan Institute of Social Development” Nurbek Matzhani, Director of the Research Center “Youth” Aisulu Erniyazova, Director of the RSU “Kogamdyk Kelisim” Elina Masagutova, Deputy Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies Alua Zholdybalina, Director of the Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Studies Talgat Kaliev, Director of the Center for Monitoring Interethnic Situations of the IPEI Guldana Okasova, members of the Scientific Expert Council of the ANC, as well as other representatives of the expert community. The moderator of the discussion was the director of the Center for Applied Research of the Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research, Ayaulym Sagynbaeva.
Experts discussed theoretical and practical aspects of identity development, and also shared the results of research related to the study of current trends in issues of civil self-identification in Kazakhstan.
In their speeches, the speakers at the platform touched upon the issues of forming a general civic identity based on increasing the degree of participation of citizens in socio-political processes and through comprehensive support for public initiatives. The speakers noted the need for a scientific-practical approach and emphasized the importance of effective interaction between the scientific and expert community and government agencies in this work.
In conclusion, the speakers pointed out the special role of scientists and experts in preparing a methodological basis for the development of identity and identified the key vectors of upcoming joint work.
The discussion participants expressed gratitude to the Institute of Applied Ethnopolitical Research for the opportunity to comprehensively discuss current issues in the field of ethnopolitics, including in the areas set by the Head of State in his interview in the Egemen Qazaqstan newspaper.
