Community centers for young people have opened in every district of the metropolis, where they can attend various courses completely free of charge, exchange creative ideas and learn new professions, a Kazinform agency correspondent reports.
According to the city akimat, all eight community centers are public spaces with an area of 300 square meters, which consist of many classrooms, equipped with comfortable co-working areas and all the necessary equipment for a productive pastime. It is expected that the community centers will cover over 800 thousand people.
Each center has stakeholders who will help center residents choose courses based on their interests or decide on a future profession. For example, take courses in mobilography, targeting or SMM, as well as get advice from lawyers and entrepreneurs, which is especially important for those who want to start their own business.
Various methods will be used to attract young people, including distributing information brochures. However, the main emphasis will be on social networks.
According to Rustam Kayryev, a stakeholder of the Medeu district community center, young people will be able to communicate with peers who have achieved certain successes, and thus find new guidelines for themselves.
“We conduct media literacy courses, there is an interesting project “Yide Soyle”, which allows people to learn the Kazakh language for free without leaving home,” says Rustam Kayryev.
It is important to note that the community centers are decorated in a modern style, and the design contains ethnic notes.
According to the akim of the Zhetysu district, Gulnara Kokobaeva, community centers will become a space for the comprehensive development of youth.
- About 689 thousand young people from 14 to 35 years old live in our city. Of these, 58 thousand are in the Zhetysu district. Many schoolchildren wonder what professional direction they should take. This is where they will be helped to make this important choice,” says Gulnara Kokobaeva.
Also in the community centers there are music classes for playing the dombra, recording studios are available, psychological consultations are held, master classes on self-development, and so on. In addition, in community centers young people have the opportunity to learn about various educational programs and grants in educational institutions.
- The city lacked platforms where young people could develop and gain specialized knowledge. In addition, their location will reduce commuting, and each district will have its own point of attraction for young people,” notes Kristina Bekmurzaeva, head of the project office for the development of youth, culture and sports.
All centers have comprehensive discount cards that provide benefits for transport, catering, and use of sports and cultural facilities. Every resident of the center will be able to take advantage of these privileges. Thus, the issue of creating a comprehensive infrastructure for effective youth policy in the metropolis is being resolved.
The Almaty Akimat reported that within the framework of the Almaty City Development Program until 2025, it is planned to launch 16 youth community centers, two in each district, 8 of them are already operating. More than 680 thousand young people aged 14 to 35 live in Almaty. Of these, about 7.3% are not engaged in work or study and fall into the NEET category.
The main goal of the city's youth policy is to help every young Almaty resident find their place in society. And community centers are intended to become the most important tool for the socialization of young people.
