Deputy Chairman of the Geology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerlan Galiyev shared his opinion on what qualities are necessary for successful enrollment in the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve, the correspondent of MIA "Kazinform" reports.
"It is desirable that a person who goes to the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve understands why he is doing this. If a person just wants to try his hand, this is not quite the right approach. A person should know the specific public sectors that he is interested in, as well as clearly see the improvements that he wants to make in this sector. This will help you a lot motivationally, because there are stressful moments during the selection," Yerlan Galiyev told Kazinform in a telephone conversation.

He gave an example.

"There is a stage when vice-ministers, heads of agencies and services talk to the candidate. They conduct interviews with the candidate, asking him point-by-point questions. At this moment it is very important to understand what exactly you want, to give some suggestions at this moment, to voice ideas. This creates a positive impression of the candidate in the eyes of the commission members. The second is proactivity. When you get into groups and start working with proctors, you show activity, that you are not just sitting here as a victim of circumstances, but actively doing something, despite the circumstances. At the same time, without violating discipline and routine. This is very important," the speaker stressed.

In addition, according to him, the candidate must have stress tolerance.

"Sometimes there are some unexpected situations that can throw a person off balance. You need to be mentally prepared for this and act proportionately to the circumstances. For example, it happened like this: the proctor says, the candidate gets distracted from the monitor screen, the candidate starts to worry, and their answers go much worse than they could have, given their real abilities. Then they complained that they were constantly distracted, talking arm in arm. But this is the whole trick – you need to be stress-resistant, not to be distracted by it," E. Galiev added.

As reported, on September 1, the next selection for the Presidential Youth Personnel Reserve will start in Kazakhstan.

Citizens of Kazakhstan no older than 35 years old, who speak the state language at least B1 level, with higher education and work experience of at least 5 years can take part in the selection.

The selection consists of several stages and will last from September 1 to December 25, 2023. According to its results, the 50 best candidates will be selected for the reserve. The period of stay in the reserve is 3 years. During this period, reservists can be appointed to various government positions without passing a competitive selection.
