The younger generation considers work in the oil and gas industry unattractive and prefers the field of renewable energy sources, according to Energy Voice.

“New research by accounting firm BDO has highlighted challenges for the future of the oil and gas sector. The study, presented in the report, The Workforce of the Future, suggests that more than 80% of young people planning to work in the energy sector prefer the renewable energy sector. Millennials, that is, between the ages of 19 and 31, find renewables as the most attractive. They considered the oil and gas sector and the mining industry less attractive,” the statement says.

At the same time, it is noted that according to the BDO, more than 50% of enterprises in the oil and gas sector have already announced difficulties in recruiting personnel.
