Military registration procedure

Legal basis

Military discipline in Kazakhstan is divided into several areas:

• compulsory military service (for male citizens aged 18-27 years for a period of 12 months);
• reserve officer service (for boys under 29 years of age for a period of 24 months);
• military service under contract (according to the term specified in the contract);
military training (for military service for a period of 2 weeks to three months).

Conscription of citizens for military service is carried out 2 times a year: from March to June and from September to December.

The procedure for recruiting recruits

1. Handing over the summons to conscripts who have reached the age of 17. 5 days before the deadline for appearance at the recruiting office, the staff of the department or the Department of defense affairs must hand you a summons indicating the time and place of military registration. The delivery of the summons is carried out at the place of residence.
2. The arrival of a conscript at the department or Department of defense affairs at the place of residence within the time specified in the agenda.

4. Obtaining a certificate of registration after passing a medical examination. It is necessary to obtain a certificate of registration, which is issued by the State Corporation "Government for Citizens" or local military authorities.
