Creative, intellectual, active youth who speak several languages are the future of modern Kazakhstan. In the east of the country, university students took part in debates, where they discussed topical issues of multilingualism, its importance in the development of society. During the tournament, the guys showed off their knowledge of three languages. The discussion was conducted in Kazakh, Russian and English. The traditional event was held within the framework of the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan, Kazinform reports with reference to the Akimat of East Kazakhstan Region. Students of D.Serikbayev EKTU and S.Amanzholov VCU took part in the debate tournament. According to Ravil Yunusov, chairman of the NGO "Assembly of Zhastars of East Kazakhstan Region", an intellectual game of this format with the support of the Assembly is held only in East Kazakhstan region. "It has become a tradition for us to hold annual debates in three languages as part of the celebration of the Day of Languages. During the tournament, we have the opportunity to get to know the state and other languages better. In addition, I think this format will arouse interest in learning the language among young people. In our House of Friendship, everyone has the opportunity to study the state, English, as well as the languages of the ethnic groups represented in the APK. There are free courses for this," Ravil Yunusov said. The participants of the debate themselves are sure that in the era of globalization, multilingualism is a requirement of the time. "Now no one has a question whether it is necessary to know other languages. In my opinion, this is very important for a person's character and career and affects the formation of values in general. By learning languages, you take a new look at life, develop, become more creative and objective. However, as the poet Kadyr Myrzaliev said, "know all languages, respect your own", let's know and respect your native language! – said the participant of the tournament Ayana Zakanova. The students who took part in the debate received valuable prizes and letters of thanks.
