Marriage registration process in Kazakhstan
Basic conditions for marriage registration
- The full consent of the man and woman entering into the marriage and their attainment of marriageable age, i.e. 18 years.
- Marriage between the following is not permitted::
- by persons of the same gender;
- persons one of whom is already married to another person;;
- blood relatives;
- adoptive parents and their children;
- persons at least one of whom has been declared incompetent as a result of mental illness or dementia by a court decision which has entered into force..
- Marriage is registered 15 days after the date of application (the date of reception is not included in the term of rendering public service).
- The registration of the marriage is made by the registration authorities on the basis of a joint written application..

ways to request for marriage records
The basic requisites are: couples who have reached the age of 18, are getting married for the first time and do not have children (citizens of Kazakhstan).
This requires:
- to obtain an electronic digital signature for both spouses, because when performing the marriage registration your other half must confirm the consent to register the marriage on the portal through the Digital Signature;
- login and submit an application;
- you should pay the state fee in the amount of 1 Monthly Calculation Index (3450 tenge) with a bank card.
Period of service provision: 1 working day.
The intermediate result of the service: Notification of the date of registration of the marriage at the Registry Office (civil registry office)
On the day assigned for the registration of marriage, you and your second half need to contact the authorities of the Registry Office (civil registry office) for the conduct of the state registration of marriage.
The end result of the service: Notification of the acceptance of the electronic application and the date of the state registration of the marriage (marriage) in the form of an electronic document certified by the Electronic Digital Signature of the employee of the Civil Registry office, or a reasoned response to a refusal to provide a public service in the form of an electronic document.

In the Registry Office (Registry Department)
The basic requisites are: All couples over the age of 18 can apply. Person who has attained the age of 18 can apply.
You must provide the following documents:
- Application on entering into marriage;
- Identification documents of both spouses (for identification)
- A document confirming the payment of the state fee in the amount of 1 MCI. (Monthly Calculation Index).
The intermediate result of the service: Upon receipt of the necessary documents for receiving the state service, the service holder is issued a detachable coupon on reception of the relevant documents. On the day assigned for the registration of the marriage, you and your second half need to come to the authorities of the Civil Registry office for the conduct of the state registration of marriage.
The end result of the Service: Obtaining a certificate of state registration of marriage or a reasoned answer on refusal to provide state services on paper when presenting an identity document.
