Almaty will host the 10th International Military-Patriotic Youth Gathering “Aibyn”

The ceremonial opening of the event, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Hero of the Soviet Union, People’s Hero, and the first Minister of Defense of independent Kazakhstan, Army General Sagadat Nurmagambetov, will take place at the Military Institute of the Land Forces. The institute bears the name of the renowned veteran and outstanding military leader.

The gathering will take place from June 16 to 22 at the Ali training ground. And while last year representatives from two foreign countries – Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan – took part, this time they were joined by teams from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia, which testifies to its growing popularity.

From the regions of Kazakhstan, students from military-patriotic clubs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, other troops and military formations, the Military College of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Army General Sagadat Nurmagambetov, the republican schools “Zhas Ulan,” the specialized lyceum “Arystan,” and regional military boarding schools – a total of 750 boys and girls aged 14 to 17.

Participants in the training camp will compete in partial disassembly and assembly of the AK-74 assault rifle, shooting with an air rifle, pull-ups on a horizontal bar, sit-ups from a supine position, tug-of-war, running 1000 m and 3000 m, a military relay race, and a military field tactical game called “Kushimiz Birlikte.” An intellectual game called “Aibyn Dariny” and a creative competition called “Aibyn Zhuldyzy” will also be organized.

An interesting program has been prepared for the participants of the military-patriotic gathering, including concerts, lectures, sports games, campfire evenings, and screenings of films about Army General Sagadat Nurmagambetov. In addition, there will be an exhibition of military equipment, gear, sports equipment, and stands about the activities of the clubs.

The gathering aims to strengthen interethnic and international friendship, improve military-patriotic education, promote military service, and enhance the image of the Armed Forces.
