1000 new grants will be distributed among young scientists in Kazakhstan

Within the framework of the "Young Scientists" project, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan will allocate one thousand grants. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yeraly Tugzhanov announced this at an online briefing, Kazpravda.kz reports. 

"The development of science will become a priority. At the instructions of the President, one thousand grants will be allocated to the Young Scientists project. A major reform will be the obligation to transfer 1% of the income of subsoil users to the development of science and technology," Tugzhanov said.

According to him, this decision is aimed at dramatically increasing the competitiveness of key sectors of the Kazakh economy, industry and green economy, as well as the introduction of new technologies.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister added that the work on the closure of universities that provide low-quality education will be strengthened in Kazakhstan.
