First program to support startups from Central Asia launches in Nur-Sultan

A program to support young entrepreneurs from Central Asia launched in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan for the first time. The Founder Institute, the world’s largest pre-seed startup accelerator based in Silicon Valley, in partnership with the Nazarbayev University Research and Innovation System (NURIS), are the organizers of a unique project aimed at the development of tech-related businesses in the Central Asian region. 

“If you are at the concept stage and do not know where to start, the Nur-Sultan Virtual 2020 Founder Institute Online Program will help you understand and prepare for launch on the international market in three and a half months. In addition, you will get a huge experience for your personal development. This program is ideal for ambitious startup entrepreneurs who want to create a technology business, including people who still have a permanent job,” said Anarbek Utegulov, Head of the NURIS Business Incubator and a representative of the Founder Institute Pre-Accelerator.

The organizers said that, with the help of the online program, participants will be able to not only achieve rapid progress in business, but also attract investments for its development. For example, graduates of such a program had previously attracted investments in the amount of more than US$950 million. In addition, the program participants will be provided with mentoring support and feedback from more than 40 technology entrepreneurs for Kazakhstan, Central Asia and Southeast Asia. They will also be provided with free access to a package of post-programs to receive investments from business angels and venture funds. 

“After the program, our graduates will receive free expert support from the Founder Institute Headquarters and will be able to expand their network among startup founders, executives and investors from the Founder Institute global network. The network includes 4,300+ graduates and 14,000+ mentors from over 200 cities around the world,” Utegulov added.
